i sure wish these people would read their comments so they could learn something. socialist "authoritarianism" IS IMPOSSIBLE! the words are diametrically OPPPOSED to one another. THE major definition of socialism is ANTI-authoritarian. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT! in other words - socialist-authoritarianism isn't socialism at all - ITS FASCISM! which means the soviet union and china WEREN'T socialist. they weren't communist. they WERE FASCIST! here's how it works; if you talk like a fascist, walk like one and act like one, THEN YOU"RE A FASCIST regardless of what you call yourself or of what "historians" want to call you. my god, its the easiest thing to figure out IN THE WORLD! when the hell am i going to be allowed a VOICE on these channels so i can SPREAD THE TRUTH and straighten this crap out! no one else is doing it. and they won't let me do it EITHER!

... everything i'm saying is a reflection of the philosophy of equalism. equalism says - democracy is political socialism and socialism is economic democracy. the one CAN'T exist without the other. fascism is political capitalism and capitalism is economic fascism. one can't exist without the other. ITS JUST THAT SIMPLE! if socialism was truly authoritarianism there'd be NO REASON for it to exist. WE ALREADY HAVE authoritarianism. so STOP, THINK and you'll understand what i'm saying is true. stop believing the lies of your oppressors!

@elizabethbrauer1118 ... look, by the standards you just expressed the far left and far right are NO DIFFERENT. they're both govt authoritarians and that would make the "center" of the spectrum the ANARCHISTS! that makes no since and its inaccurate to boot. the center of the spectrum actually represents those who are content with the staus quo. they're ANYTHING but anarchists. socialism CAN'T be authoritarian. if it were there'd be reason for it to exist. you're saying BOTH ends of this political spectrum are FASCIST! so you're no longer speaking of a spectrum but a CIRCLE! that meets under fascism.
