the best games ever came from independent programmers and teams remember activision's first hits when they where formed to go against companies like Atari PITFALL, but now activision is the same company they where formed to compete against. GTA franchise would not exist if a couple of board programmers didn't come up with the concept, doom and almost every FPS is based on those core concepts ULTIMA franchise one guy in his bedroom created an awesome franchise that was better then all the RPGs at the time, it wasn't mega corporations who created awesome franchises it was one guy or a small group of friends. that the mega corps destroyed.

@RosesRedThorns we really need to go back to those days. TOR is an alternative but they do not have user friendly domains

@Takeshi357 even the chatroom were organic how many people fell in love not looking for love but they had a common interest some hobby or subject and they got to know each other, or the last time you accidentally ran into an interesting home page, and when we had more then on search engine that each one had its ow advantage or distictive lookk, and distinctive look, almost all wepages look bland the same and hard to tell the difference between other then the banner on the top and the logo, but each page is formatted and designed off a template so they all look the same and in the old days each site had the whole page unique and branded to the company.

i stopped buying games when i thought i was buying hard media i bought like six games two of them where empty boxes with a peice of paper and a steam code, and i think one of them let me have the instruction manual, i was abig fan of the ARMA series since i lose my ARMA 1 CD so i bought another one i thought and it also forced me to use a steam code. when there where independent servers for the arma series , but i couldnt even play the solo missions on ARMA ! II or III with out a steam account. and the rest of the games where like that there where only two games that didnt force me to get two new accounts or steam games or require me to be on the intnernet to play a solo game. and i was fan of GOG for a whole then they started copyrighting opensource games, for example i have the source code for URBAN, i forgetting the title as i am writing but it had URBAN in it and it was before GTA and had missions driving stealing cars but you playes as an african american woman cop. Okay done with you guys too.
