conditions of surrender always depends on the leverage one side has over the other and when it's very clear who's the winner - it's extremely hard but not impossible to negotiate a good deal. Remember the 1905 Ruso-Japanese war when inept Russian generals lost the war and then brilliant Russian diplomats ensured the greatest conditions possible (i.e. no monetary concessions which led to total collapse of over-extended Jpanese economy that depended on possible gains).

for what purpose? For them to wreck their nation even more in desperate and unwinnable fight? To keep being ruled by the oligarchy slightly more corrupt than Russian one? For Ukrainian closed borders and no elections?

@Kath-nd6pj Except that so far only Zalushniy was concerned about future of his people and how to keep them alive while suggesdting defensive strategies, while Zelensky constantly demanded relentless attacks no matter the cost.

USA and nato doesn't want rise of any nation (that's why they sponsor insane green parties, by the way, no one among developing natoins is allowed to go through industrialisation to not become possible rival), they were never thinking of well-being of Ukraine, only on how to use someone weakening Russia while the puppet chosen - would be weakened too. To the last Ukrainian, as american generals say.
