@mikedon5205 meh, hundreds of "modern" Russian tanks t-90 are not very different from the thousands t-72 they kept in the warehouses and repair\upgrade (since t-90 is upgraded t-72 to begin with) now. And we never seen real modern Russian tank - Armata in action. Still, the main Russian advantage is that they have few dversity in their weaponry = less of a hassle for logistics to send relevant ammo and fuel.

@Sloppygator9309 do they need to, though? Ships are irrelevant in that conflict.
2
@jaxonl7810 the ship 37 years old, though.
1
@Djamonja still don't see how it's loss is relevant.

@Amradar123 Logistics is mostly done by roads and railroads, hence why Ukraine is so focused at terror attacks on Russian railroads deep inside of Russia. Ships are reliable transport of goods but pretty slow one, especially the aging Russian fleet. So it's not relevant in military conflict.

@Djamonja Pretty much. Both sides lie and it could be that we will never learn the truth about losses. Still, what's important are the measures that the respected governments come to manage their losses like Russia quickly ending it's single mobilisation campaign while Ukraine prolonging a dozen of theirs while crackiing down and beating up random pepole into submission by the commissars to be sent into meatgrinder. It doesn't help that Zelesnky sacked the commander in chief that wanted to focus more on egffective defense which could help out Ukraine to mitigate their disadvantages. Furtermore, at this point it's not even clear who is fighting on the frontline - have seen numerous Polish and German troops from one side and Chinese from the other.

it is indeed embarassing. Ukraine has not a single victory on land so it uses valuable technology to sink irrelevant ships instead.
1
for 37 year old fossil the ship kept itself remarkably well against cutting edge technology, though.
1
irrelevant.

tanks are relevant, though. 37 year old ship - isn't.

@prfwrx2497 Ukraine has no facilities at all, in comparison, duh.

@SeanP7195 Russia still has enourmous natural resources and it still sells it's oil through Ukrainian pipelines, paying up for it's usage (hence why it's not really war). We have seen them rebuild Crimea and later Mariupol in absolute glory, Ukrainians wished they'd lived there instead of fleeing from their govrenment' meat catchers. "Smart" people left Russia cause it has open borders, in comparison with Ukraine that has closed ones, yet people flee it the best they can. And how Russians refugees were mistreated in the West proved both to them and to the Russians inside of Russia that they are fighting a good fight against evil xenophobes akin the ones they fought against in ww2.
1
@SeanP7195 a very different ship of a country with different military doctrine that focused on changing regimes half a world away? US is island nation that dominated all the coutnries on their continent, of course ships are extremely important to it, especially such good ones. Quit comparing ornages to apples.
1
@SeanP7195 USA, it also steals other's oil around the world to keep it's military and political supremacy, so? Russia usually comes third after Saudi Arabia and Russian oil is consumed mostly by it's neigbours, i.e. China and Western Europe. Still, not sure what's your point there.
1
@TaylorLiam87 how so? The biggest ships' usage so far was of miniscule snake island changing hands. Ships are irrelevant in this conflict.
