  1. This is not a future thing. It's already been happening for decades! Lots of states use AI/algorithms to determine enrollment eligibility for various programs that (are federal but) the states oversee such as SNAP, unemployment, medicaid and more. There was a great article a month or so ago that the algorithms are also used to deny appeals when people are denied disability or unemployment. Michigan had a huge problem with this where the algorithm accused people of committing unemployment fraud and then denied their appeals and send them letters saying they owed tens of thousands and would be charged with crimes. The system was called MiDAS. (Ironically like a Meidas touch destroying everything by turning it to gold for a few.) Of course it's also being used by health insurance companies but anyone watching this channel knows that.
