  1. The US could pay for it easily if we just made the top 3 wealthiest pay a normal tax rate (instead of 0%). Or if we just took it out of the bloated military budget. You know we spend more than (i'm pretty sure) every other country on Earth combined! We definitely spend like 3 times more than China and also more than the top 11 countries combined (excluding the US obviously, since we spend the most).

  2. Until we hold executives responsible for their crimes nothing will change. If corporations are people then they should face prison time like any other person would. But no, we only prosecute petty crimes not white collar crimes.

  3. Yeah but who is going to pay? You'd have to hold the executives who profited liable otherwise the company just declares bankruptcy after they've run out the back door with all the money. (Usually via stock based compensation and dividend payments)

Remember, that's what the military is, that's what healthcare is if you live in any reasonable country (US ain't reasonable) that's what roads, bridges, water treatment plants and pipes, schools, police, firefighters are, etc.

  10.  @tacomonkey222  We subsidize oil and agriculture to boost the economy how's this any different? You know how much money we give to those companies that are supposed to be "profitable"? If they are so profitable then why do we give them so much money? At least this opens up new possibilities for work, leisure, shipping, etc. Maybe it wont happen in the next 5 years but 15-20 years from now this could revolutionize our economy and way of life.

  11.  @Dee-ye2dk  Developers have no incentive to do it since it's not profitable. The only way would be for the gov. to subsidize it, which would mean the gov. is involved anyways and almost certainly subsidizing the profits of the developer then.
