Very true, romantic love has been so over-capitalized on by everyone trying to control our minds and wallets from religion (christianity specifically for us westerners) elevating it to some divine achievement and punishing/ostracizing those without it or those who lose it (as in divorce or having a child out of wedlock or even just not wanting to get married due to the red tape) to the Hallmark card industry and valentines day crap to the advent of the blood diamond ring barons convincing everyone that love can only be substantiated by the size of diamond you can give someone. Now don't get me wrong, romantic love is great, all those chemicals swirling into a dopamine and oxytocin-induced high for the ages. But real love exceeds those superficial, transient moments and requires real work, like any relationship and diamonds aren't going to prove otherwise.
