  1. Alu instead of Cu, cheaper... lighter, but electrical not as good. You see it in cheaper speaker wiring. Technically it does the job, but you know that Copper is better at it!

  2. Sounds like a Product 1.0 to me. This happens everywhere! NO matter the country or the product. Product 1.0 usually has issues. It is a known fact in the tech industry that Product 1.0 buyers are BETATESTERS. Only once you reach 1.2/2.0... you get most of the issues out of a product. Still, we talk about a CAR, not a toy or something like that.

That thing would overheat and bend the motherboard and poof... Red Light of Death. This car is just rushed to the market without enough testing. And yeah, probably the cheapest of cheapest material...
