  1. Not much of a choice, their "glorious" government decides and so it is done. That will remain until even the layer of officers/police revolt against it.

  2. That is the issue with China. They did make some of their own stuff but yes... mostly by stealing IP from others. And they can make simple components, how low they last is another thing but they can make simple components. So take that all in, and whatever frankenstein project they make is "made in china"
