Something that is often neglected to be discussed is the demographic collapse and the effects on economic growth in China. The Zero Covid Policy and industry crackdowns are causing them to use debt and essentially borrow growth from the future. A future where growth will already by very hard with an aging and shrinking population. Very tough times ahead for the Chinese economy, and I am doubting they will ever emerge as the largest economy.

@Countcho Hmm I'm not sure about that... as even if they had half of their GDP - it's still many times that of the UK. I think they'll see economic stagnation, similar to Japan's....but worse

@AnotherAmerican91 Actually I'm a big fan of Peter's, but I think he is a bit too hyperbolic and certain of outcomes. I think he's right about China's demographics in collapse, but wrong about their population being half by 2050. The math just doesn't add up
