  1. Xi was way too arrogant to position himself and China to be this global leader and equal/better than the US when they still relied so heavily on their technology and know how. I really think he was overconfident in thinking the US would never pull these levers. Deng Xiao Ping said bide your time, hide your strength, and never lead - the exact tenants that Xi threw to the wind.
