Elon Musk "world's smartest idiot".
67
Why isn't the legality of Musk's campaign contribution being investigated?
30
The stranger thing is that I think he knows he's smart but somehow deficient. I read a "world's richest man" interview with Musk that occurred after his divorce. The interviewer asked him if he was happy. Musk said that he wasn't sad by any means but he wasn't convinced that humans could be totally happy without being in love. Part of Elon believes that Elon is missing a "part" that makes him truly lovable, like she'd marry him if he was a truck driver instead of a billionaire. It's like the tin man in the Wizard of Oz. Trust me, I'm Aspergers with the ability to empathize. Probably not as much as you but it's there. It's also entirely possible that I could be totally off.

@geoffreypershouse70 The ass-kissing yes man part was a given. I was just wondering if Vance had to stop saying something or start saying something to get the VP offer.
10
@l.c.9509 Me too.

People like Musk don't give that kind of money unless they get something in return. What did Trump promise Musk?
7
Thanks for that info. What did Vance have to change in his stance to get the VP offer?
7
It's alright. Kari "Kukoo" Lake came from my state.

@richardarriaga6271 Incredibly detailed info, thanks!

@RyanEglitis I looked it up. Here's the basic difference. If you read a flattering poem about someone at their funeral, it's an elegy. If you do the exact same thing at a funeral but it's a speech and not a poem, it's a eulogy. At first you were kinda pissin me off but you forced me to learn something new today and I am appreciative of that. Thanks.

Who are those muslim millionaires that supported Obama and Biden? What do you think about the ~2 billion MBS gave to Kushner? Looking forward to your feedback!
2
Calm down. It was definitively NOT a compliment.
2
@jameswoffinden9215 Could be. For someone like Musk, that would equate to hundreds of millions of dollars.
2
Thanks. It's good to know the cast of characters.
2
@laars0001 I do too. I'm not saying that I would be immune to the same if I were the world's richest person.
2
@lawshorizon That could be it.
2
Agreed, it is purely speculation at this point and should be pointed out as such. However, this is how the search for the money trail begins. Give it time to form.

In Vance's book Hillbilly Eulogy, he shows that he despises poor whites for their stupidity and self-damaging substance addictions. Vance doesn't want those people to have union benefits. He's not hypocritical, he hates these people. The scary thing is that there IS a method to his madness.
1
Aren't they pretty much synonyms?
1
@stevemccarty6384 His book Hillbilly Eulogy, check it out. NOT the movie.

@geoffreypershouse70 I've always wondered why blue collar Americans love Trump while Trump screws them over in favor of billionaires. I can't remember the song but it says something like "You see those people on TV. They think they're better than you and you agree". I think that may be part of the mindset that adores Trump. I could also be wrong and/or crazy.
1
I'm sure you wrote a great post but I'm too lazy to read all that. We're American. Give us bite size nuggets of info. Your thoughts will get out there better.
1
You just put out a manifesto... You need to back away and turn off the computer. Maybe it's nice outside.
1
I agree with all of your points. Except for two. If Trump/Vance are elected, US support for Ukraine will stop and the US will be out of NATO. They both have said so. Why do you not believe them is my question for you.
1
So you caught us at a bad time. Fair enough. Just remember that our track record of relative political stability is still pretty good compared to most other countries. Put it this way, if you're writing from a Scandinavian country, yeah we F'd up. Otherwise, piss off as I seriously doubt your country has a better track record.
1
Only if you're not a billionaire.
1
You're big picture assessment seems correct. You left out Xi. We are witnessing an alliance of international corporations (the billionaire patrons of The Federalist Society such as the Koch brothers), Elon Musk, Peter Thiel (Vance's mentor) and dictators merge in front of us. Trump plays the pied piper to get the votes. And that's never good for the common man. Keep spreading the word.
1
A lot of us are seeing the transition from democratic republic to oligarchy being brought about by Trump and crew.
1
He's not dumb. He was raised poor with a mom that had substance abuse issues and revolving boyfriends. He was raised by his grandparents. His grandfather had a good union job. JD was born with a bright mind and a gift for public speaking. What has he chosen to do with that gift? Capitalize upon the ignorance of the poor whites that represent what he was forced to grow up in. Like a bully does with size and strength, JD used his intelligence to gain power and wealth from people he considers dumb and self-destructive white trash. And he's pretty good at it.

If it gets too shitty here, we might be neighbors.
1
@Offadollar54 I'm sorry but that means next to nothing. A legal opinion from people NOT representing Musk would carry water.
1
They have lived a relatively privileged life by Russian standards. And they intend to keep that.
1
@drenamir1647 Hmm. It didn't delete that one. You are using trigger words. If you substitute non-trigger synonyms, you should be able to express yourself fully.
1
@drenamir1647 Which Iranian and Qatari millionaires support or supported Biden and Obama? I have not heard any of this before.
1
You are correct. Except that Trump is using religion to convince his followers that he has been sent as their champion. The documentary Bad Faith will explain Christian Nationalism to you.
1
Trump has many working class Americans that he is their earthly savior.
1
Are you the correct thread?
1
I'm 53 and I share your concerns. Big corporate money (the Federalist Society, Musk, etc) wanting full governmental deregulation have joined forces with The Heritage Foundation wanting America to be a Christian theocracy, and Trump plays the "populist pied piper" to generate the necessary votes. Throw in Orban, visiting Kiev for the first time to ask Zelensky to accept Putin's terms of ceasefire. Then Orban flies to Moscow to meet with Putin, and then to Beijing to meet with Xi. Then Orban completes his world "peace tour" in America but he doesn't fly to Washington. Orban goes to Mar-a-Lago. Something is up and it's big.
1
Didn't Tiel and Musk found PayPal together? Possibly some other ventures too but I can't verify that. A guy named Sacks fits in there somewhere.
1
Just to be devil's advocate, the same could be said of Biden. I think there is one critical difference. Biden has built his cabinet and departments based on merit. Trump is building his cabinet and departments on fealty to him. That's a big difference. Do you agree?
