What are European religious values? Far as I see religion among the locals has been on a down trend almost everywhere in Europe and I don't think that is such a bad thing.

@danielefabbro822 How about if majority voted for the Taliban in Afghanistan in fair elections? They would be democratic by definition but certainly not liberal.

@danielefabbro822 Well that is how I and I suspect many others would define a demoracy: country where the system of government is where the people elect their leaders in free and fair elections. Wasn't that Austrian painter also initially voted into power in actual elections? I can see situations where a country is actually a democracy but not liberal. Maybe your definition of democracy includes some other parameters.

@SvalbardSleeperDistrict "The fact that capitalism cannot actually provide for a lasting and sustained liberal values - because under it, people have to waste their lives struggling for daily existence" Fact according to who? The actual fact is the only proposed alternative to free market capitalism has failed repeatedly for 100 years now. If you think socialism is a better alternative, you can move to Venezuela to experience it yourself and eat your pets for dinner because you can't afford to buy food or it's not available at all. And if you think that the system by the Austrian painter is the better alternative, the success it had was based on funds stolen from other lands and the countless victims.

@SvalbardSleeperDistrict We can talk about any of the other examples if you like: North-Korea, Eritrea, Cuba, Laos. Success stories all of them right?
