They are different clubs so no it's not a must. Ireland and Austria are for example in EU and not about to join NATO.

Finland wasn't occupied, but certainly they know a bit about it from their neighbor Estonia that was. If you are talking about earlier history, it was part of Russia so I don't think the term "occupation" fits very well with that period.

@eddastrohmayer251 Yeah, because when only neutral countries get invaded by ru, it's better to be neutral? Austria is surrounded by NATO countries, so it doesn't matter if you are neutral or not.

@eddastrohmayer251 Part of Austria was occupied by CCCP and again, your neutrality doesn't matter as you are surrounded by NATO countries around you so you are basically free loaders. Not contributing directly but obviously benefitting from NATO. If you were at the border with ru, your neutrality nonsense would disappear pretty fast and I think the kissing of ru backside might also disappear.
