If you'd ever had a leaking heating fuel oil tank for your house furnace rupture in the garage where it was located, you'd know how dangerous the situation can be. All it takes is a spark...or a match. Diesel is a Class II combustible liquid instead of Class I flammable liquid, but don't let that fool you. The higher flash point doesn't necessarily prevent ignition or combustion. Both are distilled petroleum products. Moreover, anyone soaked in kerosene would die before too long from inhalation of the fumes. Country and western song called Kerosene about immolation. Plus, thought about using gasoline, but dirty diesel fitted the imagery better.
