  1. So we get more people like Matt Haetz, Jim-Gym Jordan, and Marjorie Greene? So we punish both sides for the faults of one side? So we lose all that valuable experience and accumulated institutional knowledge that takes many years to acquire in Congress? So we take away the choice of American voters? So we get more lame-duck politicians with nothing to lose and therefore no real accountability in their final term? No, thanks! Term limits are not the solution, they are anti-democratic. However, do agree with limiting Presidents to two terms because of the tremendous power wielded by one person in the Executive Branch, and to prevent de-facto kings. The problem isn't lack of Congressional term limits. The problem is Citizens United, dark money, unlimited campaign financing. The problem is the voters who keep electing bad or corrupt elected officials. The problem is Reich-wing media, demagogues, plutocrats and politicians creating a mindless Republican cult. The problem is the gullibility and willful ignorance of American voters in that Republican cult allowing themselves to be manipulated and exploited at their own expense and the expense of the nation for the profit of those Reich-wing plutocrats, politicians, demagogues, and media outlets. The problem is the revolving door between government and industry. The problem is Reich-wing politicians placing personal and party interest over what is best for the country. Congressional term limits are a cosmetic fix that would do as much or more harm than good...while not actually addressing or fixing any of the root causes of the problems faced.

  3. @Tom Servo ~ As often said, "WE choose our elected officials, so WE get the government we deserve." If we choose our representatives wisely, we are rewarded. When and where we don't, we reap the rotten harvest sowed producing bad government. Besides, there already is term limits for members of Congress--they're called voters. Something neglected to mention in my earlier reply was that segment of the population outside of the Republican cult who are too apathetic, lazy and ignorant to become informed on their government, the issues, and the candidates--a number of which rarely even can be bothered to perform their precious privilege and important duty to vote.
