Itz Midrex ~ Any democracy is only as fragile as its citizens lend it. In America, we the people are the rulers, not unelected plutocrats, and certainly not unelected bureaucrats. We the people choose our representatives for government, and it's up to us to choose them wisely, to not be unduly influenced by the plutocrats and partisan demagogues. We the people can choose truth over lies, facts over conspiracy theories, cooperation for the common good over partisan rancor. Democracy doesn't start or stop at the top; it begins and ends at the bottom, with each and every citizen. The kind of cynical, defeatist talk you engage in is reminiscent of Russian agitators seen so often on social media trying to weaken America. #moreRussiasanctions

Let's be clear; Congressional Republicans have been pointing a gun at the heart of legitimate self-government for four years, now--including Sen. Ben Sasse. The only exception is FORMER Republican Rep. Justin Amash, who was essentially ejected from the GOP--solely for his honesty and integrity. Even Republican Sen. Mitt Romney over his two years in Congress has only made half-steps in rejecting Trump's authoritarianism, corruption, and lawlessness, demonstrating how he, too, cares more about his ambition and raw partisan power than he does his country. And it hasn't been just Congressional Republicans; nearly the entire GOP has been complicit in aiding and abetting what is clearly the most criminal, despotic, rotten, and incompetent President and administration in U.S. history. Which is why it is felt the only good Republican is a former Republican. The GOP no longer stands for any rational ideology. Instead, it has become a mindless political cult, based upon hate, delusions, denials, and the blind lust for power at any cost.
