  1. The mom's text, "Ethan, don't do it!" had to have been a plea for him not to commit suicide, as it happened only after news of the school shooting broke. No concern shown for any of the kids her son killed and injured, only for her own son. Republican family values, don't you know?

"Don't go to the store after school and pick up that loaf of bread like I told you, because I'm afraid you'll start shooting people in the store!" Considered all of that, and thought, no, it's almost certainly a plea for him not to take his own life.

  5. Before U.S. gun manufacturers bought off the NRA and the GOP to create a bogus political issue and instill fear, mass shootings weren't a thing in America and schools were much safer. Today, over 393 MILLION guns are owned by citizens, which translates to about 120 guns for every 100 citizens. A record number, 40 MILLION, were sold in 2020 alone. However, over 2/3 of Americans do NOT own ANY firearm; less than a third of U.S. citizens own all the firearms, which amounts to a whopping third of all civilian firearms owned in the world are in the U.S. The sheer number of firearms present in the U.S. makes accidental gun injury and death, rampant gun violence, and mass shootings a certainty. Ironically, the inescapable truth is that those purchasing and owning guns, mostly for self defense, are making America less safe for everyone.

  6. If Ethan's parents really cared about him, why didn't they get him help? Why did they refuse to take him out of school after it was clear he was deeply troubled, potentially psychopathic and a danger to himself and others? Why did they buy their disturbed 15-year-old son a Sig Sauer 9mm for Christmas and take him out shooting it? Why did they not secure the weapon in a safe place where he couldn't have gotten access to it, and have a gun lock on it? Why did they go on the run, abandoning their son and leaving him holding the bag?
