A vibrant democracy??? Whatever happened to Harry Truman, "The buck stops here?" Whatever happened to George Washington not telling a lie? Whatever happened to my country? In less than four years, Putin's puppet-pie pawn, Toxic Trump, and the Republican cult have turned America into a proto-fascist banana republic. Which demonstrates just how fragile democracy really is.

@maryc8552 ~ What's that got to do with voters deciding elections, not SCROTUM? Unless you're asserting the last election determines all future elections--which would essentially be partisan dictatorship? Besides, GOP has lost the popular vote in six of the last seven elections and yet appointed 15 out of the last 19 justices. Barrett would make that 16 out of 20 seats. So, no, the voters decisions are being nullified by archaic and undemocratic mechanisms that need to be abolished and overhauled. Or, the Democrats simply expand current SCROTUM to 15 justices after winning the White House and Senate, making it a nine to six liberal majority, and ensuring a liberal majority for many decades to come--all perfectly legal, and poetic justice for GOP power grabs.

I'm a little concerned that you feel the need to twist things around, to deliberately confuse disdain with obsession, demonstrating your own obsession with propaganda. Just like glossing over the Republican obstructionism in the Senate when Democrats were nominating highly-qualified moderate judges, necessitating the Democrat rule ending filibusters for judge nominations. Just like glossing over the arbitrary Republican rule on not nominating SCROTUM judges in the last year of a Presidential term, then proceeding to ignore their own rule; the height of Republican hypocrisy and a purely partisan power grab by the GOP (Greedy Old Plutocrats). The end result will only backfire on Republicans in the end, when Democrats expand current SCROTUM to FIFTEEN justices, while adding Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. as new U.S. states. Furthermore, because conservative SCROTUM justices are WAY out of touch with TWO-THIRDS or more of the American public on key issues, their short-sighted narrow-minded conservative decisions will only wind up driving more voters away from the GOP, which already represented just a minority of voters. It's Pyrrhic, short-lived victory for Republicans. Obviously, you're evading, still not answering the important question: What does your reply have to do with voters electing the President, not SCROTUM? All we get from you is intellectual dishonesty. Republican cult are cowards hiding behind the flag and the cross to commit the unspeakable. Bob Woodward talks about the "average American," but ignores how decades of round-the-clock programming through Reich-wing media like Faux News and social media platforms like Facebook have transformed a third of Americans into an ignorant tribalistic partisan mob that eschews facts, reason, science, and even democracy--unless only when or where they can momentarily benefit their purpose in gaining and holding minority power. As a result, there is no more "average American." Now, we have sane Americans...and a mindless proto-fascist Republican cult living in an alternate reality bubble world. Which is why this coming election is a battle for the soul of America--a battle likely to continue afterwards, regardless of the outcomes.
