It's good that Julius Jones, an innocent man, won't be executed, but the Republican Oklahoma governor refused to grant clemency, so he could still face decades behind bars, which is a travesty. It's also good that the prosecution is presenting a solid case against the three white men who lynched Ahmaud Arbery, but the fact that it even happened, that the defense lawyer is making racist arguments and using dog whistles, and that it took a video tape, public outcry, and months before deciding to prosecute is terrible. What is obvious from both cases is the systemic racism which still pervades America, which Republican leaders and Republican SCOTUS justice try to deny. What we have is a two-tier justice system----one for minorities and the poor, and one for Whites and the wealthy----that breeds injustice.
