I'm no Boris fan but most of the 650 MPs in parliament backed him when he wanted to lock the country down and even worse many of them wanted tougher and longer restrictions. Every time Boris wanted to lift restrictions people like Starmer piped up and said it was too soon. I'm glad about partygate because if Boris was not in such hot water over partygate he would have locked Britain down at Xmas. He didn't because he knew the public would not accept it after partygate.

@wundurra24 17,500 that died solely of Covid ( too many obviously ) and no other health issues. It was a long way off the Daily Mail prediction of 250,000-500,000 could die in Britain from Covid. That was their headline back in March 20. Plus I don't think Britain did any better than countries like Sweden that had very few Covid restrictions.
