  1. Mainly because if a person spends £80 a week on groceries they will spend £75 of it in the local superstore and the remaining £5 in the local corner shop just for bread and milk in the week. Bearing in mind these local shops are open 12-14 hours a day it must cost a fortune to run the place for very little return.

  2. People moan about corner shops closing but buy all their goods online or at the local superstore. No one ever closed a busy shop.
