  1. I didn't realise how lucky I was growing up in the 60s. I lived on a council estate in a small village, no one had any money, hardly anyone had a car so practically everyone in the village went out at weekends to the village pub or the occasional dance at the village hall. In the summer the school would arrange a day trip to the seaside, there would be three buses full of villagers all went on the same day trip. Everyone looked out for each other.
