And that's what he's doing.

I think if Youngkin gets a trifecta then we can really start to judge how effective or ineffective he actually is. He can't really do much now without the state Senate.

Laura Loomer is genuinely schizo. She's the kind of person who needs mental help rather than discussing politics...

How? I'm not believing Youngkin's running for president in 2024 until I see it. He's clearly fundraising for the legislative elections.

Well that depends on the reason Ron did it. If he did it because he's an egomaniac who can't wait his turn to be president, then I can't imagine he regrets it at all and is very furious the American people aren't blindly bending down to his knees to give him the power he so craves. Of course it's possible he only ran too because of bad advice from donors like you said, but given how much Ron's fallen even in just the past couple of months, my gut tells me it's much more sinister and that Ron truly is an evil POS. At least if that's the case though, we definitely dodged a huge bullet in 2028.

That's what I'm thinking as well, and I'd support him as well if none of JD Vance, Josh Hawley or Tucker Carlson run. Alternatively I could also see him making a run for Senate in 2026, which he may have a good shot of winning if it's an open seat.

@keithconnell8460 Yep. That's what I've been saying. If we lose in 2024, then it's effectively over. We either won't have a GOP at all anymore, or even if we do, it'll basically just be a "diet Dem" party, and your average Republican candidate for president will look more like Adam Kinzinger or even Joe Biden.

@Maxvansteel Youngkin could certainly help with suburbanites and perhaps give Trump a lock on AZ and GA, but I'm not sure he'd have much sway in the rust belt which is where the election will ultimately be won.

@Maxvansteel Actually I think Pence DID help at least some people get on board with Trump in 2016. It's easy to forget now given how much Trump proved pretty much all his initial skeptics wrong, but back then there were many strong libertarian and evangelical Republicans who did NOT trust Trump very much if at all and weren't fully ready to commit to him after the primary, so Pence at least at the time was a sensible pick to help get the evangelical Republicans to turn out more strongly for him. Had Trump chosen someone like, say, Gingrich, I'm not entirely sure if Trump would've gotten as much of the core GOP base out as he did. Obviously times have changed since then and pretty much everyone sees Pence as a traitor and a flat out piece of crap now, but back then I think most were fine with him as a VP pick and he was definitely one of the better choices for Trump. In 2024 I think the VP pick needs to be someone like Josh Hawley or Henry McMaster, someone who can keep the evangelicals happy but who also won't depress the core MAGA base turnout.

@DegenerateNerd Either an idiot or an asshole, depending on the true motive behind his run which I still don't think we fully know. I hope it's merely idiocy, because the alternative would suggest that he's actually a power-hungry jackass who ran four years early because he's had ambitions for the presidency his whole life and couldn't wait anymore time to do so, thus meaning FL was merely a stepping stone for him rather than a place he actually cared about governing.
