@CountArtha Reagan is honestly extremely overrated. He was in favor of mass amnesty, is responsible for the no-fault divorce laws that set the stage for the collapse in the nuclear family and much of today's marital issues, and he paved the way for the neoconservatism that came to define the Bush eras. If he were alive today he'd probably be much closer to a Liz Cheney or even Mitt Romney style Republican than Donald Trump. Whilst I'd still say he was a decent president all things considered, especially given that very few presidents I think did enough good for the country to fully be considered "great", he was certainly nowhere near Trump quality. I think a big part of the reason why Reagan is remembered so fondly is just because of the initial movement he created and how it essentially sparked the revival of conservatism for a new generation, and also because of his landslide 1984 win.

I agree that we should be skeptical of Vance in spite of how far he's apparently come since then; however compared to all the other clowns in that race he was BY FAR the best choice.

@generalawareness101 Yes. He's one of the worst "Republicans" in the Senate by a long shot.

@ErikCB912 Not to mention the fact that he was literally the ONLY candidate in the OH GOP senate debates who didn't suck up to the "MUH UKRAINE!" narrative.

@Glornt Don't get me wrong, I certainly have my reservations about Vance, but the fact that he was literally the only GOP candidate in that primary who didn't shill for Ukraine in the debates and also had the guts to defend MTG and other based conservatives is proof to me that he's come along way and is more than likely legitimate.

@CountArtha I do agree that Cleveland and Coolidge are definitely top-tier presidents who deserve more recognition.

Who was actually my favorite candidate in that clown show of a field until he essentially came out dissing the middle class. In f***ing OHIO nonetheless!

Jim jibroni You talking to me? I'm the one who precisely argued he wasn't.

@joeyd3324 Were you an adult during the FDR years? I'm at least 95% confident you and nearly everyone else alive today wasn't, yet you've still got plenty of leftists and even some RINO's to this day who love to shill for the guy and act like he was one of the greatest presidents. You don't have to be alive during a certain era to have an opinion on it, especially when enough time has passed to where we could better understand the legacy of one's actions.

@bnic9471 Traficant was actually a really solid representative though, corruption issues aside. He was a lot more based on some of the issues than like 90% of our current GOP representatives are. Tim Ryan on the other hand is a total fraud and an establishment hack. He's exactly the kind of "fake moderate" the Dems love to push in order to make their crazy agenda seem more reasonable!

Susan Wojcicki Bolshevik from Poland NONE of the candidates in the race were genuinely pro-Trump. Not. One. And Vance was the only one brave enough to not spew the same BS narrative about Ukraine. That alone won him over with Trump and many others.

I definitely wish either Blystone or Renacci would've just dropped out of the race to endorse the other. I can't help but feel as if though Blystone may have been a fraud who only got in the race to divide the anti-DeWine vote so that he'd stay in power.

@paradisecityX0 To be fair though, the PA GOP senate primary is an absolute dumpster fire. Both Dr Oz and David McCormick are goddawful and would be complete and total useless RINO's in the Senate, so it's essentially a "pick your poison" contest.

@hornetguy9063 I will say that I'm skeptical of Vance given that past you mentioned (and also because of his comments on Trump's immigration policies in 2018). But while he has yet to be a proven product, it does seem to me as if though he has come around a lot and understands the plight many Americans are going through today, and indeed when he was the only GOP senate candidate in the OH GOP primary debate NOT to shill for Ukraine, it became obvious from that point on that he is and was by far the best candidate to run to replace Portman. I'm taking a "wait and see" attitude with the guy, but I've been impressed from what I have seen of him and I think his life story will resonate greatly with many Buckeye State voters.

@SonOfTheLion Vance I think was by far the best option though. I'm really impressed with his background and life story, and the fact that he was the only candidate in the GOP primary debate not to shill for Ukraine is proof enough to me that he's come a long way.

@SonOfTheLion People can change mate. And like I said, I'm skeptical of the guy but am willing to give him a chance. If he's based enough to not fall in line with the Ukraine narrative, it shows that he won't be easy to buy out.
