@generalawareness101 I mean to be fair, Obummer didn't finish out his Senate term when he was first elected president so it's not like it's a requirement necessarily. However considering how good of a governor DeSantis has been and the fact that his Lt. Gov is just Cuban Nikki Haley, I still agree with everyone else that he should just be waiting until 2028. Keep Florida red and properly governed.

That's because he is sadly going to run, it's been pretty obvious since at least November. Ron's been doing everything a prospective presidential candidate would do, and indeed if he wasn't going to run he would've come out and said so way back then.

Thank you. And indeed the MSM has already been attacking Ron the same way they attacked Trump. This idea that if we don't run Trump the GOP will suddenly become tolerable to, or at least won't "animate" the left is complete and utter nonsense. But, I guess the only way the loser right will see that is for DeSantis to lose at 3AM in 2024 like Trump did 4 years before that...

ImaStar And what's funny is that the very same people who are screeching "MUH ELOOCTABILITY!" in regards to Trump and will swear not to vote for HIM if he wins the nomination (gee, kinda counterproductive there BTW, don't you think?) are often the very same ones who cry when they read comments like this. It goes to show they must not believe their own BS or at least haven't thought too hard about it, cause if they did, then surely if these establishment candidates were so "great" they wouldn't give a rat's ass what we choose to do in November. Yet they do.... Every time.

@generalawareness101 Considering all the Republicans in blue states (for better or for worse depending on one's point of view) seem to be flooding FL I don't think any Dem is winning there statewide ever again, at least not for a very long time. So that part isn't much of a worry. And really I'm just playing Devil's Advocate more than anything by bringing up Obama. I'm not necessarily saying I like it when politicians quit early, but I'm pointing out that Ron wouldn't be the first one to do it to try and gain the presidency. We all know power corrupts, and when you're someone like him who sees an opportunity to become a leader of the free world, well... The desire to achieve that opportunity often outweighs all else.

@generalawareness101 Well that's even if your state allows him on the ballot which is not a guarantee due to "sore loser laws" many states have. That said, I'd still be open to a Trump third party run just to give the ultimate finger to the GOP establishment and show the delusional idiots who think they can win without Trump's base just how dumb and wrong they are.

@generalawareness101 Considering from what I've heard he could only get ballot access in like 28 states at most if even that due to the aforementioned sore loser laws (and that at least like half of those states are Dem strongholds meaning Trump would never win them unless he went full woke mode which is the last thing we need him to do), it's virtually impossible sadly. He'd certainly do great as an independent and maybe could even carry a couple states, but there's no way he'd be able to win. Does it pain me to admit that? Absolutely. But it's also just the unfortunate truth... And even if it was somehow possible, the establishment would make sure it never happened anyway. They'd probably try to pass some BS law to force Trump's electors to cast votes for either DeSantis or Biden should he somehow manage to get them all..
