It’s true unfortunately. We don’t have that many children per head anymore and I think the population would gradually shrink actually if it weren’t for mass immigration. And that WOULD be a GOOD thing because that’d mean everyone would have more space to live in and land wouldn’t be as expensive. Yes we’d have to abandon or drastically reform our pension system, but that system is ridiculous anyways imo, it needs to go.

Neither, although of course churches were at least built for and by the native population and in their style. Mosques are an affront to our world.

@goblinisac5759 Yup so fuck welfare systems. On top the immigrants are employed at a much lower rate and actually proportionally more on welfare so that's kind of ironic. If a system requires the population to be ever-growing, it's a bad system. Bad for the people, bad for the environment.

The North ye, the South is catholic.

tr33c it’s actually literally 50/50 “non believer/believer”. It’s just that it’s in our culture to practice stuff privately so you won’t notice really. And thus it’ll seem like most Dutch are atheist. Although religious practice is definitely in decline.

We have monument preservation and protection, but that hasn’t been around for that long and so a lot of nice buildings have already been leveled or been messed up. But these days people do seem to want to keep their monuments true to their origin. Although there are of course still plenty of those pesky post-modernists in the Netherlands, especially in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam doesn’t count as the Netherlands imo (I’m from Holland), it’s mostly foreigners. I don’t feel at ease there at all. And yes we don’t use air-conditioning. It’s not hot enough for it most of the year, there’s only like 2-3 weeks a year where it’s really really hot. And ye the coastal areas are quite humid which makes it feel hotter.

It hasn’t bypassed the Netherlands unfortunately, there are plenty of parties pushing for more government control and “hate speech” laws. And the “diversity” is concentrated in the cities and then mostly certain neighborhoods are “100% crime uh diversity”. For now I think we’re somewhat safe because we do have pushback against mass-immigration, “hate speech”-laws etc. But you have to understand that the Netherlands is already a highly regulated country where pretty much every action you take as an organization requires massive bureaucracy. And the worst is that people here complain so much and then expect the government to solve it but then also start whining every time they have to fill in more paperwork and thus want less bureaucracy. But I don’t think they realize its of their own doing.
