Clearly imperial is better. Why? You may ask. Well, I can measure it with my own body. Now that's powerful. I just like old fashioned stuff okay. By the way imperial measurements aren't exclusively English or American. They were the main form of measurement in the entirety of Europe for most of history. Netherlands for example only changed to metric in the 19th century, but carpenters would often still use 'thumbs' (inch) 'els' (lower arm length) and 'feet'. (duimen, ellen en voeten).

@maurice7017 It's great for math and science. But when you build something like a wooden construction, you only need a measurement that's consistent with itself. Your own foot, lower arm or thumb is not going to change length. It's the old fashioned way and I like it.

@maurice7017 That's not what I meant. And you can measure it with your thumb or any other stupid thing. I just like that these measurements come from the historical evolution of measuring with bodyparts.
