I think people tend to forget that attacking is a lot harder than defending. You really need overwhelming power in order to attack. Simply because attacking means moving, which means exposing yourself. Defending means digging in. Co-ordinating digging in is also a lot easier as it is stationary, where as attack is mobile.

Knowing about what has come to pass really makes us understand the present so much more clearly. And you understanding this is what makes this channel great.

Because their army did better than the Uighurs, and apparently somehow these Uyghurs aren't very politically adapt. You'd think they'd find some support from other Turkic people like the Kazachs and Turkey.

Funny, when you mentioned if the Chinese could hope to shoot it down, given it is so expensive, I thought of this game I play where you have to gather a lot of supplies and then find the right manufacturer to make artillery pieces. But if someone gets behind your lines, which can sometimes be quite easy, they'll take the piece down in a few strikes. (It's Conq Blade for those wondering, a Chinese game ironically).

I wouldn't say 'objective' because I don't believe people can be. But he's certainly trying to shine a light on many aspects or angles of his topics and giving us a realistic understanding of the topic at hand. Which I am thankful for. It is indeed annoying when people who constantly put the words 'objective', 'fact' and 'truth' in their mouths are just spouting one-sided news at best and propaganda at the worst. In fact (pun not intended) I think those words are an indicator that they're giving you only their perspective on the matter and are trying to change your mind.

Slaves to the oil. Give your life for the oil duuude!

Didn’t even know this happened.

Interesting how quickly people forget how war works when they're not fighting equal opponents It's like playing chess against an incompetent person for years, making you feel like a genius, then running into someone of equal level and realizing you're in big trouble now.

It was not ‘roll of the dice’ whether the nobleman was good at war. Nobility in fact is BASED on those that are good at leading armies and show massive courage. These guys would be raised as officers, they all had vast amounts of military knowledge. But just like with a modern army, some have more skill than others. The problem is that over time the nobility began straying away from its purpose and neglecting their own fate, becoming corrupt and self-serving. Especially in the time period you are describing.

I've got a reason for you, nobody in their right mind fights for the enemy.
2
Source on lacking discipline?
2
They shouldn't. They should have no troops whatsoever.
2
You should really consult someone on slavic pronunciation.

Source: Trust me bro.

You're saying you don't use a leather wallet? What's wrong with that? Ancient = tested = reliable = good. Oh, it's the precursor to an ad.

Worden ze ten minste verkocht aan Ukraine of gaan ze weg voor niks? Als het 't laatste is vind ik het oliedom.
1
Damn those things are massive.
1
You trying to get yourself a job at the pentagon?
1
The third arm is too funny!

What it was was incredibly expensive. Especially something like metal gloves. Which is why you only see nobility in full plate. Into the renaissance period, soldiers (hired troops) become a thing over the levy. They buy their own armor, this is when we see something similar to our own times, namely the half-armor which covers the torso and thighs only. As well as a helmet of course.

Is it normal to start a war right before winter in the Middle-East? Or are they stupid?

It's a physical DDoS 8:00

No point trying to stomp out a cockroach.

@brendankelly2653 For sure.

Honestly I dislike that warfare relies on such complicated technology. Almost makes me want to learn about the technology just so I can disable it. Forces countries to invest heavily and rely on these smart cunts with no moral considerations (often juice).

I wonder if Putin actually deems a NATO invasion likely. I mean why did he start this war in the first place. Does he want to take all of Ukraine? Does he want more? Why? Gas, oil? A nice defensive line? But if he wants a nice defensive line he must expect an invasion. It's really all very wishy washy. In the end it just looks like an imperialist move, him trying to expand Russias borders for the sake of control snd display of power.
1
@lauris5275 If that were the case he would have broken off the attack a long time ago I think.
1
What is your surname? It's pretty sad Americans are so uprooted, I feel sorry for you and please stop trying to uproot other people. This uprooting seems contagious as someone seems to be placing rewards on it and play into peoples greed.
1
I really dislike juice so I simply cannot side with the Ukraine. Sorry lads, but maybe pick an actual Ukrainian to lead your country instead of this... dishonorable, lying, scheming type.
1
I'm honestly surprised the USA is sending weapons, I wonder if the kremlin saw this coming or if they thought by hinting at nukes the USA wouldn't interfere.
1
Anyone who ever played something like Total War: Attila will understand. If you go to war under a peace agreement, or go to war shortly after breaking it, your trustworthiness will drop and diplomacy will become harder. This is the route Putin has taken and it's a hard one to come back from. If he'll be defeated then there also won't be much respect nor mercy.
1
No more self-deprecation.

Hello, I would hate being a minority.
1
So 'Hanification' of Xinjiang is bad, but we have to allow migrants to flood our lands with no limit?
1
@wilhelmu you mention one advantage of attacking and then suddenly it’s easier? No man.
1
UN peacekeepers shouldn't exist.
1
@noahway13 artillery sure is a great way to get people to move.
1
Maybe they have someone on the inside, a Russian giving them info.
1
Because they're genuinely popular in Russia and showed that they can in fact retaliate. I don't think Russia would like to fight a civil war while they fight the war in Ukraine. They'd rather have the Wagner soldiers die on the front lines in Ukraine.
1
My main thought is that, damn so many high-ranking Russians whose faces are uglier than my butt. Race mixing all those step people just went horribly wrong.
1
Maybe if the punishment for using these is dying by one of these, people would stop using them.
1
If this works out, arms manufacturers will make a lot of money. Many European powers are scaling up right now because of Ukraine, may as well replace your main battle rifle if it’s really revolutionary.
1
Quiet firefights, that's a new one for me.
1
Why would anyone leave weapons and such behind. Why didn't they take their time with the withdrawal? It all looks so amateurish.
1
@truth2774 You do realize people in the Middle-East don't use parts. They just use it up and get a new one.
1
I mean, the Netherlands is downstream of multiple countries who use the Rhine first. Because of this we have a group with all these countries where we can discuss what to and not to do in the Rhine and set some rules for eachother. Not saying it's perfect, salmon hasn't been seen in our river for a long time, but it is surely far better than constant war with our neighbours...
1
Hopefully not. Well, just like in the past every country has a massive amount of allies. People from NATO countries are already volunteering for the Ukrainian army and at this point it's just waiting for a Russian rocket to accidentally hit a village in a NATO country. This will surely force NATO to take action and then the entire alliance has to be called to arms which in turn will have Russia summon its allies. From there it's just waiting for someone to use a small nuke out of desperation which may trigger others to do the same.
1
Hahaha this really shows you cannot trust them. The USA put an ungodly amount of money into that country and now they won't even help their 'allies' out. Even the fact that there's a Jewish Ukrainian president won't sway them. Hilarious. Do not ever, try to make an ally out of them. They are as slippery as a snake.
1
@UnsolicitedContext You are the definition of ignorance.
1
@ericwalker8382 Islam? This is the opinion nearly every society throughout history has held. 'they' are a refugee-people and NOWHERE absolutely NOWHERE were they liked. In fact, they were despised everywhere they came! The only people that 'liked' them were the people that could use their lack of moral compass to gain power. If you have ever gazed into any primary historical source, you would know this.
