  1.  @genericwhitemale9566  Well I think it was mainly a numbers game. 9/10 of their population got wiped because of plague, then they had to fight wars. I think people generally overestimate the technology of the time. Natives had guns that they got from the English and these things only shot three rounds per minute. Given the gear people were wearing, you may as well bring a bow.
