Diane Abbot deserves respect as one of the most effective MPs. The Robin Bunce book about her is excellent. I recommend that you read it.

@jonathan.m8756 There is no far left. The policies espoused in the Corbyn period were moderate social democracy. If you think they were far left you do not understand how extreme Britain is as an outlier in European and world politics. Yes, it is an island cut off from the world but there are books and the internet to find things out from for those that can be bothered. The right has been determined to purge the left since Blair and most of the time has succeeded except 2015 to 2019. Under John Smith, who was from the right of the party, both wings were able to work together. On the morning after the tragic 1992 defeat Corbyn and Livingston were interviewed in the BBC studio and were magnanimous about Kinnock, even though they were from the left and he had moved Labour to the right in the context of the eighties/ nineties. By today's standards, Kinnock would be deemed to be on the left. Thatcher said so called new Labour was her greatest triumph- she was right, given that Labour capitulated to her ideology under Blair. Ideas dismissed as far left are part of the mainstream in most European countries and around the world. While there are plenty of achievements Labour can claim credit for from 1997 to 2010, fundamentally it reinforced neoliberalism, the root cause of all Britain's ills since 1979. I'd do some wider reading and thinking.
