The civil service is impartial. Suggestions to the contrary are very dangerous. Banning work drinks, if it happened, out of sensitivity to others is to be welcomed. The country is saturated in alcohol. It does no harm to give it a miss every now and again. Education is not 'rotted' with the left. That is not remotely true. Teachers have a duty to be impartial and adhere to this. Many teachers vote Tory and identify with Tory policies, not hard given that Labour is Tory anyway.

Well said. Nailed it.

God knows why but You Tube keeps on showing Jordan Peterson segments that pop up despite the fact I keep saying I do not want to see it and do not like the clips. I really object to seeing him appear.

@jessery475 Exactly. In France everyone has to study philosophy which teaches the ability to think critically. Levels of political illiteracy in the UK are off the scale. The neoliberal vandals who have wrecked the economy and society since 1979 are determined to preserve their project at all costs. First and foremost because it makes the rich wealthier and keeps them there, and secondly because they are ideological extremists. They cannot accept or admit the effects of what they have done. The education system is in serious trouble like never before- the quality of teaching is often very poor and indiscipline/ disengagement has been worsening year on year for at least a decade.

Neoliberalism is the problem. Weak unions, income inequality, low pay, precarious jobs, tax cuts for the rich- all part of the project since 1979. Voters have been stupid enough to fall for it.

@joetrent4753 I have done but it keeps happening time and again. At least once a week. I also have segments popping up on obscure things like generators for living off grid in a forest or some such. I do not live in a forest and have never shown any interest in planning to. I do not live in a right wing echo chamber and abhor right wing views yet it is not unusual for segments from right wing individuals to appear. Usually it does not persist but there have been exceptions.

@joetrent4753 Agreed.

@BENTWOONEZERO Academic research. Look it up. A very poor education system also breeds political illiteracy. There is no such word as messeaure- rather proves the point about illiteracy more widely.

@BENTWOONEZERO I told you to look it up. I simply do not like engaging with illiteracy. Now go away.
