  132. @Paul Rodney ”Bogus huh Lol..Prove it, Prove or debunk me that im wrong?" Yes bogus. If something is below the horizon zooming in on it isn't going to bring it back into view. That's ridiculous and there is zero evidence to support that nonsense claim. I don't need to debunk it. You made the claim - you prove it! You can't because it's complete nonsense and you know it! "you wouldn't be needing for me to answer the flaws if you looked it up yourself before talking junk here..There is enough info out there to get all sorts of flaws, son" Firstly, I'm not your son. Secondly, it's very obvious at this point that you've got nothing so you're resorting to the usual flat earth tactic of saying "the information is out there, you need to do the research". It gets a bit old. "Other polish Cosmonat is Miroslaw Hermaszewski" Yes I'm familiar with that interview. He says it's flat and then he smirks. He's obviously joking. And also, in the same interview he also talks about seeing the Earth as round - which you would know if you "did your research". At any rate, a youtube clip of someone saying Earth is flat is not evidence. Evidence would come in the form of a working flat earth map or a working flat earth model. Lets not pretend that either of those things exist! It would come in the form of a rational explanation as to why we have two celestial poles. Or how the sun rises east everywhere on Earth during an equinox. Or why Polaris can only be seen north of the equator. Or why the sun never changes size and traverses the sky consistently at 15 degrees per hour. You know - explaining how all these things that clearly point to Earth being a sphere orbiting the sun can be explained by a flat earth model. And the truth is you can't explain any of these things without ridiculous word salads and gish gallops. So lets stop pretending that you have anything valid to say here. Flat earth is demonstrably complete nonsense and has no relevance in the real world apart from being something to laugh at.

  211.  @Zripas  No, that's actually not my argument at all. I'm saying that the reason people believe in God isn't necessarily because a book told them to, although that may be the central reason, but also because churches provide a real community for people. I suppose you could argue the same for flat earthers - that there is an online community that also reinforces their beliefs and gives them a sense of comfort - and that may be true but it's not as tangible as an actual place with a physical presence of a congregation. But besides that, my main point is that you can't prove that God doesn't exist any more than you can prove that he can. But it's trivially easy to prove that flat earth is a load of nonsense if you look at it with any sort of intellectual honesty. To go back to what you were saying about religion, I don't think a society where we tell people what they can and can't believe is a very healthy one. I would say the same for flat earthers - I think it's ridiculous and I love to poke holes in their stupid theory but it's not up to me to tell anyone what they should believe. When you start claiming something is fact when there is no proof for it then that's a different ball game. But say what you will about Christians or whatever, churches actually do a lot of good that isn't necessarily broadcasted. I'm not a Christian myself but I have close ties with a local church where I live and they do a lot of good things both locally and abroad, particularly with youth, the poor and the vulnerable. They don't advertise that but there is a lot of good that they and many churches do behind the scenes that most people aren't aware of.

  322.  @Gimo76  "YouTube stated they were taking down all Flat Earth videos" No I don't believe that's true. What I said before is accurate. They altered their search algorithm to not promote misinformation channels. And flat earth channels are firmly in that category! "In an ancient writing it states that God made two lights a greater light for the day and a lesser light for the night. They are both the same size and I have taken pics of both and see it." And? How does that explain why we only see one face of the moon if it's supposedly a local, small object? Obviously if this were the case then that would easily be observable. But if we only see it from one angle then it's not a local, small object is it. This is pretty simple logic. "This is getting silly we have so much more to deal with her than flat earth so what it doesn’t make any difference if we believe or not" That may be so but let's stick to one subject and not get side-tracked with talk about vaccines. It's really not relevant. I agree, in the scheme of things it doesn't really matter what either of us believes except that what you believe is obvious nonsense and I'm trying to make you see sense. "No one has answered my question on how can sun and moon be sometimes in the clouds?" I answered it before. It's not in front of the clouds, it's just the way camera sensors deal with bright objects causing over-exposure making it appear as thought it's in front of the clouds. I mean, come on, if that were the case then aircraft would regularly be at the same height as the sun. You're not really that silly are you?
