Not 15. Up until about 5 years ago, most of China's focus was all about the big internet companies such as Baidu and Tencent.

It's important to note that Moore's Law and physics itself is reaching it's limit when it comes to chips. Transistors cannot shrink at the same pace as they have before. This means countries like China will inevitably be able to capitalize on this huge opportunity. China is slowly making progress with Huawei especially, however, they are still miles behind top edge silicon from Taiwan and the US. This makes the limits of silicon a perfect scenario for the PRC. Love the videos, keep it up 👍 PS: China has stated that it plans to launch a "new era" in childbirth and marriage to reverse a horrifyingly low birth rate. It involves dramatically lowering the cost of child raising. China is one of the only countries which has a government powerful enough to re-shape culture and social norms. Would like to see a video on a potential global shift towards birth rates!

Semiconductors aren't just about the leading edge. China is the biggest chip consumer market by FAR, and isn't going to just disappear within 10 years. Don't forget mature/legacy and other potential leapfrog techs.

@LucretiaYeh It's not 2010, they are literally the biggest manufacturers of indigenous ball pens by a country mile

"Losing face" is overrated when it comes to China. People just overemphasize it because it fits their biased narrative.

@ArkhanTheBlind Run off lil bro. I'll "belive" what I want to "belive"

@tinto278 S-s-smash the PRC 🥺👉👈"

People are going to be very upset at you....

Xi's political system IS capitalist. Even with China's new red turn, they are still one of the most capitalist countries in the world, and Xi Jinping isn't going to change that.
2
@ArkhanTheBlind When it comes to China, this is the exact bias that I find pitiful. Your source is your girlfriend, and a couple other Chinese friends. But you "trust" them. Sit down buddy.

@mth469 The fact that silicon chip development is starting to reach physical limits.
2
@mth469 Every single shrinkage of node will be more expensive and take more time than it's predecessor.
2
@mth469 AI cannot change physics which has been in place since the beginning of the universe. Chip development will slow, with or without AI
2
@mth469 If this really is the case, China will probably use AI to find the most efficient way to catch up in semiconductors and execute that plan by 2030

China isn't going to invade Taiwan. They still have options. Many of their problems are solvable. Xi Jinping just needs to make the right choices. Really isn't that hard, but I'll never underestimate the choice making of communist dictators

@DeviousDumplin Agree. Although I'm not just capping out silicon. I'm saying that as physics really starts to get pushed to it's limits, each node progression will be more expensive and take much longer than their predecessor. China is making slow progress with Huawei patents and other minor yet building up resources.

@hectormedrano7620 Totally agree. But if you look at the policies which have been implemented by other countries, it's pretty clear that governments simply aren't doing enough for the low birth rates.
