  1. As one of those people who used to hate Rust (for no particular reason I might add), I'm now a convert. C/C++ are still great for teaching, but no longer belong in critical production software, and you could certainly argue in any production software in general. The diehard C/C++ crowd will wake up one day and realize that the industry has passed them by. Only then will they say, I was wrong, Rust isn't just a fad.

  3. Kris, you never disappoint! I've listened to Chris talk about language design before. He has a brilliant approach, meet people where they're at, not where you want them to be. You have to be able to set your own ego aside in order to do that.

  6. As a business owner myself who built it from scratch, you NEVER base the success or failure of your business around a single supplier of a specific product. On the flip side and quite ironically, Raspberry Pi's own decision to exclusively supply industry and abandon hobbyists has broken their own near-monopoly in the maker space. A great thing indeed!!!
