Charlie Long The "old" R8.1 has a timeless design. This new R8 has a modern design, but it won't look good 10 years from today, while the first gen R8 will still look the business...

vivalaphill Yeah I felt something was off there. If it redlines at 8500 and you get max power at 6500 then... u wot m8?

***** There's absolutely nothing wrong with getting the "poor man's huracan" if it literally shares the same chassis, engine, transmission, and everything else. Oh and it doesn't understeer like the Huracan, so that's a plus. Anyway, it's a budget Lamborghini for those who appreciate driving more than showing off.
3
***** 12-year-old confirmed.
3
***** 12-year-old Prius-driving BMW fanboy is obvious.

TheFunkyair It's not choice, it's how much money you have to spend. The R8 is a budget Lamborghini because it shares the same engine, chassis, and other components. With the Lambo you're paying a premium for the brand. So if you want an amazing driving experience, an R8 would be great for you. If you want to show off at your local Cars and Coffee meet, save up some more for a Huracan.
2
TheFunkyair mmm... 142K pounds for a brand new Audi R8 V10 Plus (like the one in the vid). Huracan? 200k pounds and up. So yes that's a 60k difference just for the brand.
2
vivalaphill Yeah I know. I have a 991 and had a Panamera 4S before it. The Panamera (4.8 V8) had lots of power and torque below 4000 RPM. The 911 S has a 3.8 flat-6. It makes little power below 3500 RPM. In fact, you can get wheel-spin if you're not careful once you go past 3500 (It redlines at 7500RPM lol).
2
***** obvious 12-year-old troll is obvious.
2
rrrrate not much mate. Take care of it and it will take care of you. Definitely not a Honda, but still not a Ferrari either.
2
ewt415 Indeed, many people forget that.
2
***** Can't hear you over the sound of the flat-6 in my Porsche. Piss off.
2
***** C63 AMG Black Series has 510HP 6.2L V8 and an aero kit (downforce), and goes around the nurbugring in 7:45. A 991 Carrera S "only" has a 400HP 3.8L flat-6, yet goes around the nurburgring in an eye-watering 7:37. REKT. Goodbye.
2
***** you're the jealous one it seems.
2
***** Enjoy the speed, the sound, and the comfort. Oh wait, what speed. What comfort. What sound. Enjoy your battery pack?
2
***** Jealous jealous jealous. hybrid diesel? That's even less than basic spec Panamera. My 911 definitely isn't 'basic' when it has 30k worth of options.
2
***** losing IQ points just arguing with you. Must be tough for your family.
1
vivalaphill Obvious Mr Obvious is obvious.
1
TheFunkyair Same with older models. A 2014 V10 Plus goes for around 100k. A 2014 LP560 Gallardo goes for 140k. A 2010 R8 V10 Spyder goes for 70-80k. A 2010 Gallardo Spyder goes for 110k.
1
TheEryk03 Not really. That side blade made it beautiful, and it was an R8 trademark.
1
ewt415 The R8 V10 is basically a Lamborghini Huracan in Audi disguise. What does that mean? For the cost of a 570S, you're getting 650S performance from this Audi. It also sounds better. Twin turbo V8 or NA V10? brah. Question is: Why would you buy a 570S over an R8 V10? 570S is still pretty good though.
1
***** I'm not saying this car is amazing. You just asked why you should consider this over a 570S. 570S looks retarded from the back, let's be brutally honest. Audi are great at what they do, you cannot possibly say otherwise with a straight face. I drive a 991 (car literally shares nothing with Audi/VW products) a new Range Rover Vogue (so no I have nothing against British carmakers). Merc guy at heart, don't like BMW that much. Don't love Audi, just understand why people like them. People dislike this car purely because of the way it looks. I don't blame them. First gen R8 has a timeless design, this is just modern, and will age accordingly. First gen R8 still looks stunning some 8 years later.
1
***** Keep telling yourself that, kid.
1
"12-year-old Prius-driving BMW fanboy is obvious." I insulted you way before that. Why would I be jealous of your merc? Give me one good reason. I have a new Porsche 911 and a new Range Rover Vogue in my driveway. One of these is worth at least twice as much as your C-class. Please grow up.

Go to "Garage" https://www.carthrottle.com/user/5mnZov/ Try cross searching these with google, you won't find anything because they're my cars. You on the other hand, don't even drive.
1
***** As I said, do a cross search with google. You won't find these pics online because they're mine, I took them myself. Anyway, you're obviously a trolling 12-year-old, so just stop. Preserve the dignity you have left.
1
***** Can't hear you over the sound of my flat-6. PSE sounds amazing.
1
***** Both cars have been trouble-free so far. Also, buying cars like these, I think I'm financially capable of handling the costs of maintenance. bad interiors cheap buttons everywhere? You can't even say anything about the Porsche. The Range Rover has leather on every observable and non-observable surface. I sense a strong sense of envy in your tone.
1
***** Yup, envy blinds people indefinitely. Prime example here.
1
Scott Maurizi Possibly, I know that the Huracan understeers. The old Gallardo did understeer as well. You could powerslide an old R8 all day though...
1
***** Definitely jealous, stop trying.
