The old myth about "trickle down" economics is that if you let rich people keep more of their money they will hire more people, as if workers are charity cases that cost companies money and they only get hired out of the goodness of company owners hearts. Fact is no company hires employees they don't need. If you give them tax break they buy back shares to makes themselves and their investors richer or worse they use that money to automate their factory or warehouse and lay off workers. They're not going to hire people for no reason. Employees make (or save) companies money. Period.

If I pay 40% of my income in taxes so should billionaires. We pay taxes in percentage of income. It doesn't matter what the number is. When the rich don't pay their fair share then I have to pay more to make up the difference. For instance. I`m sure I pay far more money than you every year.

@tem3111 Companies use roads, bridges, railways, airports, seaports, police and fire services to make their money. Companies need educated workers and a business environment free from corruption and safe(ish) neighborhoods to earn money. All these things need to be paid for.

@shauncameron8390 And I easily pay more in tax than many workers make in a year and yet I still have to pay around 37% of my income. If I can do so can they.

@steveharrigan7811 If their money is no good then so is mine. In America they have actually made the poor feel sorry for the rich. Too funny. Then you wonder why you don't have the things other western countries take for granted like healthcare and good infrastructure.

@steveharrigan7811 Well your company should've fired you. Employees are supposed to make or save money for their company. Companies can't exist without employees and vice versa.
