Icing is a big problem for all aircraft especially the ATR. These days icing is taken very seriously so it is surprising when an accident like this happens.

@Matthew7.7 It's winter in the southern hemisphere and Icing was reported along the route.

@davidlindgren7605 There is only so much an anti ice system can do. Much depends on the pilots monitoring the situation and taking action when necessary.
