How does tougher gun control laws help stop crime? Criminals don't follow laws. That's a fact.

juniorkool21 , Guns get stolen and sold on the streets. Guns come from across the border. AND guns are made. Making a gun is very easy, actually. Look, we already require a background check to purchase a weapon. It's not going to get any tougher than that. I know I won't give up my guns and millions of gun owners feel the same.

Jim Smith , Ahh...like when they made longer sentences for drug possession eradicated drugs. I see.

Jim Smith, Did you even watch the video? She's calling for "tougher gun laws to make it harder to purchase a gun". You have outdone yourself for stupidity and making yourself look foolish.
3
Al Johnson, He does this all day long, everyday. He's just a troll. Let him make himself look foolish. It doesn't bother me at all and I get a good laugh from him at least once a day.

Jim Smith, Most criminals don't buy guns from a gun store. They buy them on the streets. How would tougher gun laws stop them from doing so?
3
ice man , Exactly
3
juniorkool21 , No. In order to buy a gun in ANY of the 50 states, a person must go through a background check and there is a minimum of a 3 day wait, or longer while this check is done. That is a federal law and applys for ALL states. Check on it.
3
juniorkool21 , That has been 100% debunked. Try it. Next time the gun show comes to town. Go ask any vender. Now individual states may add more requirements to purchasing a gun, within reason, but federal law mandates all gun purchasers MUST go through a background check. That is the federal law.
3
Jim Smith , Same answer to you. 100% debunked. When you buy a gun online, they ship it to a gun dealer of your choosing and that gun store does the background check before you can take possession.
3
Achmed Turay , I seriously doubt that. Sounds like something CNN would make up. No amount laws will stop criminals. Criminals don't follow laws. It's really that simple. How about knives? Should we ban all knives or have background checks to purchase one?
3
Michael Corbin , Well said. I agree 100%
3
Achmed Turay , Nobody has said make guns easier to purchase on this thread. Where did that come from? I'm saying we have enough gun laws. They just need to be enforced. I assure you, no one will ever do away with gun ownership and even the Supreme Court acknowledges that only reasonable laws may be passed concerning gun ownership.
3
Anthony E. , Unfortunately Democrats and liberals have shifted into a socialist, anti-Constitution ideology. The divide between the left and the right is too great and a civil war is inevitable. I don't see the left even trying to change that, as we all see everyday. It is just a matter of time.
3
juniorkool21 , A private individual? Yes. You are correct. To the best of my knowledge, there are few regulations on the purchase from a private individual. ALL licensed dealers, even if they are selling to a friend or family member, must follow ALL federal and state laws.
1
Achmed Turay , That's not true at all. When the U.K. Banned guns the violent crime rate rose by 87%. Look it up. In Chicago, which has the toughest gun laws in America, the violent crime rate is through the roof!
