  1. The memos that Comey leaked are the property of the US government, NOT Comey's private property. The law is pretty clear on this issue. The fact that Comey made them while in the performance of his duties as the Director of the FBI and are directly related to government business make them the property of the government. Comey had no right to take them, not enter them into the government archives and certainly didn't have the right to leak them.
