  1. Well, it's all a matter of market, which is moving. The Linux kernel is in Android, which is dominant in the mobile device market. Linux is dominant in the server market. The only market where Windows is still dominant is conventional desktop computing and PC gaming. Desktop computing per se is a shrinking market due to the rise of mobile device uses, except strictly for professional work. So in the corporate world (outside of servers), Windows is likely to still be largely dominant, but outside of it, I'm not too sure.
