What war? Hardly any pensioners alive today who fought in Ww2. My dad was born in 1920 and fought in Ww2, he was English! And would be 104 now if still alive. So none of those pensioners out on the streets right now fought in Ww2 . I'm 68 and was born in 1956! Ww2 ended in 1945.

@kevinwebb6338 The IRAs activities against the British during WW11 severely embarrassed the Irish government, which remained neutral! At one point the IRA sought assistance from Adolf Hitler on how to remove the British from Ireland. 5 IRA leaders were executed.
