And yet DA is suspended for not very nice remarks about Romas, Jews and gingers. As for the shooting remark by Abbott I think it's been taken all out of context. Because it's just a saying with the older generation in England. Me and my sister say it all the time is one of us feels unwell etc! As an example! We'll say to each other "you want shooting" it's a JOKE , and not to be taken literally. It stems from putting animals out of their misery by shooting. And around here the comment is said in jest, and no ones takes it seriously. 🙄

@freddieflipflop oh yes they are! The synagogues in lancs employ their own security on the doors. Jewish kids in Manchester regularly have nasty things shouted at them on public transport and while walking to school. Remember the No Blacks or Irish on signs outside boarding houses in England in the 50s 60s 70s. A relative of mines husband suffered terrible abuse when he came here as a child in the 60s from Ireland. He couldn't speak a word of English, only spoke the Irish language, can't remember what that was! Maybe Gaelic? "Unfortunately" we will never eradicate racism, it's been going since humans first appeared on earth, as always will! Racism happens in all countries, cultures and races. In India they have a cast system! They treat children and adults with lighter skin far better than those with darker skin tones! And that's amongst their own people too. I know plenty of white people who adopt and foster children of all colours, but I never see it happening the other way around. 🤔
