@stephenford8775 Absolutely agree! I got the ruler across my hand at school aged 10, for writing on my desk in pencil(I knew I could rub it off with a rubber) but got caught. I was worried the red mark the ruler left would be seen by my parents and I'd be in for a right telling off. Never wrote on a desk again. 😆 That was in 1966.
