@areis7415 NATO have solely existed to counter Russia. It is evident with high number of political interference since 2008 by NATO countries in Russia.

Sean Hardman What Russia is doing in Ukraine is the same thing NATO members did in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. NATO might look like a defensive organisation but it has engaged in many offensive military actions in Europe and Middle East that are concerning many countries. Thats why nobody apart from Europeans and North Americans are offering direct aid and support to Ukraine right now. Ask yourself why?

@trishawilson1436 Its easier to counter an attack from Poland, Slovakia and Romania from Ukraine than from Russia. Don't forget Belarus geographical advantage to poland.

@areis7415 Do you know why nobody has ever attacked Russia? Because Russia has never allowed to be attacked. Russia doesn't hesitate to protect its interest. Ukraine has been making it their mission to threaten the national security interest of Russia. Don't forget that Russia has more Russian speaking natives in Ukraine than any of its neighbouring countries. Finland and Sweden won't join NATO anytime soon because of the Turkish concerns. Am sure Russia knew this, thats why Russia has no problem the two countries joining NATO. But don't forget Russia has made it clear if Finland and Sweden plans to place NATO weapons near Russian borders, then Russia will retaliate. To me, Russia's war in Ukraine is a warning NATO members and its potential applicants of how far Russia is willing to go to protect its sovereignty. Including going on offensive.
