  2. The so called Winter of discontent is exaggerated. Far more working days were lost under Thatcher. The Ford strike started in September 1978 but was settled by November. There was a Lordy driver strike in December and a brief Rail strike. The notorious gravedigger strike lasted 14 days was limited to Liverpool and Manchester and led to only 150 delayed funerals. The bin strikes in Birmingham and London lasted 27 days. Things now are much worse. Our infrastructure is failing consistently.
