  1. These men's achievements and efforts put us to shame. Their determination, quiet dignity, modesty and bravery are a sad reminder of what we had and what we have lost. Britain is now a shadow of it's former self. Burdened with gross inequality, hectored by puritans and hypocrites, constantly maligned and denounced. Broken beyond repair.

  2. Once it goes beyond 85 years ago it is effectively outside living memory. No longer contemporary history. By 2030 WW2 will be largely forgotten. The centenary will kill the memories off for good.
