  2. This was the figure for March. Since April 1st we had 8% petrol rises, 5% Council tax, 6% rail fares, 9% water rates, 12% insurance,9% phone and broadband. Inflation will hit 4% again soon. Strangely the BBC cite falling crumpet and jam prices as the driver of lower inflation.

  3. No. On average things are 3.2% more than in March 2023. That is what inflation is. An annual measure.

  5. ​@WhitneyRoss-dj4rf Yes, I took early retirement aged 57 . I am about 10% better off per month net than when working. The incompetence and greed of our politicians and banks cut my mortgage rate from 6.75% in 2007 to 1.39% by 2008. So paid that off early too. Four holidays booked this summer.
