The city is not "quite polluted", at least not on the degree a city like New York is (maybe not even 10%). Compared to what it was 15-20 years ago, it's actually quite clean, atmospheric wise. If you got allergies, that's a different story, because it doesn't matter how polluted it is, they will hit you anyway.

@OJLove5 Don't think of actual swords. They're more like crude custom made machete type knives. You rarely see an actual sword, like a broadsword or a katana replica. Still dangerous tho, but only the gangs and the occasional deranged individuals carry them. Bottom line is, if you see a group of slightly Indian or Arab looking guys, steer away from their path.

@TheRealJonster Oh, figures. This is why the experience is completely different. Cluj is worse than Bucharest when it comes to the price and quality of housing, from buying to renting. This is due to the many IT companies that set up shop there, causing the real estate to explode ridiculously in hope that all the young IT-ists will flock to it. And they did. Not to mention the narrow streets and clogged up traffic. And the neighboring towns are not any better. I have friends in both Cluj and Floresti and visit them every year, but I wouldn't wanna buy a house there. Brasov is a touristic city. It gets boring fast. As for Iasi, the flagship of Moldova, I used to know it like the back of my hand when I was a kid and staying at my cousins' places during summer but haven't been there in ages. But it's not much brighter than Cluj, from what I heard. Untold? You mean the drug festival where there's some music?
