Some more thoughts in a minute but just wanted to say that I don't feel we should be worried about using the word Socialist. The more candidates use it the more it will start to lose it's emotional charge and attempted stigma by the Right. Let's defang the word by doubling down on it. From now on I hope ALL Leftists stand strong and say "YES I'm a socialist WHY??? Because I put ordinary people FIRST. I stand for everyone getting what they need, not a lucky few. Higher wages. Worker power. Healthcare. HOUSING for all. Higher taxes at the TOP. Big Business paying their fair share. RATIONAL AND SENSIBLE DEFUNDING OF THE POLICE, GETTING THEM OFF THE STREET UNLESS THEY HAVE A GOOD REASON TO BE THERE, 100% ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE FIRST TIME; REDUCING INCARCERATION; AND ENDING THE UNETHICAL USE OF BAIL; AND THE RE-FUNDING OF OUR COMMUNITIES! THERE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TO GO AROUND, BUT MY OPPONENT DOESN'T WANT YOU TO HAVE IT, BECAUSE THEY WANT IT ALL FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR RICH FRIENDS. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR FUTURE- BUT I DO. IN AMERICA, POVERTY IS A POLICY CHOICE AND I SAY NO MORE!" and so on. We just need more genuine candidates to speak out without apology and as the Reform candidate. A lot of people will be attracted to the idea of reform (probly cuz there's always so much need for it). It's hard to win against the big money because they can afford a lot more TV commercials than you basically, but that's the challenge that every people's candidate faces.
